The year is almost over and this will be our last Social Security workshop before 2016. We’ve spent the last several months focusing our workshops on 401(k)s, Medicare and planning for health care costs in retirement. This will be our first Social Security workshop since the summer.
This workshop is also especially timely due to the changes facing Social Security in the current budget bill that is sitting on President Obama’s desk. Social Security options for “file and suspend” and “restricted application” strategies will be directly impacted by this bill if it passes, which seems likely since it has bi-partisan support. These changes are going to catch many people planning for retirement by surprise.
We will be covering options for accessing “file and suspend” and “restricted application” filings as well as providing additional education in response to this bill if it passes. If you are making a retirement plan and considering your options for Social Security, this workshop could be an invaluable resource for you.
The Social Security workshop will run on November 19th at 6:30 pm and November 21st at 10:00 am in six locations: Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, Greenwood Village, Loveland, Parker and Wheat Ridge. You can register for free right here or call 303-694-1600.
